I was skeptical. There are things that I wish were better, but the preview pictures don’t do this doll justice. I haven’t had her long enough to break down pro/con style, but I have enough time for first impressions.
The paint job on mine seems a bit anemic… not much color and detail. But I have a unpainted doll, and that is really different than this doll. If you look close enough, someone has taken time to paint veins very selectively. Less is more. Paint it up more if you like because the existing details are just enough to not be in the way.
Firmness is perfect. Unlike other dolls and toys I’ve had, there is a good tactile response from the doll’s skin. It behaves well under pressure. One word of warning though, the fingers and toes seem extremely vulnerable to mishandling.
Shape: The size is small, very petite. Tall and skinny. Think size-4. The proportions are good, very believable.
In all, the doll was a expensive purchase for someone like me without experience handling such a thing. But compared to non-identical options, this may have been the best New Year’s resolution.
